I am attempting to capture analog video in iMovie using my Dazzle Hollywood DV-Bridge. I am playing a VHS tape in a VCR, with its video/audio outputs plugged into the video/audio input of the DV-Bridge. I have a firewire cable connecting the output of the DV-Bridge to the input of my Macbook Pro.
iMovie continues telling me that there are no camera controls, and will not allow me to capture video. At some points when I try to start a capture I can see several seconds of the video that is playing, but after that the DV-Bridge seems to reset itself. There are three modes on my DV-Bridge: D to A, Pass Through, and A to D. The "A to D" mode is the one that has allowed me to see that the video is actually coming through to my computer. Is iMovie attempting to control my DV-Bridge as it would a DV camcorder? What can I do to remedy this problem?
