Hi,
I'm struggling to get photos to import albums in the way that iphoto would. I store all my photos in folders on my hard drive and then imported to iphoto from there (without copying). This would import them as an event with the same name as the parent folder and from there I could drag and drop an event into different folders that I had set up, such as one I use for syncing with my iphone and ipad, or screensavers etc.
Now if I import a folder from my hard drive I can't see where it's imported them to other than recent imports. It does not create and event, or folder or anything. They do appear in year/collections/moments but I don't like this (and don't use it on my phone either) as I can never remember when a photo was taken, and in some of my folders I have photos that span several years.
So the question is how do I import into photos so that it appears as an event, or at least a folder that mirrors my folder on the hard drive?
I found one work around which was to create an empty folder, import the folder I wanted, find these photos in the last import folder and drag them into the new folder I created. Very long winded way round, and no good if I want to import multiple folders at the same time. For example is I import folders "pets" and "Cars" for example I don't end up with two different events named "pets" and "Cars", but end up with them all randomly placed in last import.
Any help appreciated.
