Somehow I messed up my Safari bookmarks such that the beginning of each URL has this:

http&/#58;//www

followed by the rest of the address, which is correct.

I have a few hundred bookmarks and have fixed a few manually, but think this is a task for AppleScript or Automator. I know where the Bookmarks Plist is located, but am kind of at a loss for how to edit this. Can Applescript edit a plist, or control the program that edits Plists on my Mac (I forget its name).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No need for applescript automation.
Open a copy of the .plist in BBEdit, TextWrangler or similar.
Use find and replace all.
