Hello Guys,

I have an Apple TV 4K 1st generation connected to my Hisense TV. I need advice on the best settings for both devices, especially for watching Dolby Vision and HDR content. I am talking about these settings on Apple TV - https://postimg.cc/FYY7sRFT

Specifically, I'm looking for:

1. Recommended settings for Apple TV and Hisense TV for optimal Dolby Vision and HDR performance.

2. Do I need to manually adjust TV picture settings every time I switch between content types.

3. isnt there like an automatic setting on Apple TV that selects the best picture settings on the Apple TV itself and the TV, including color temperature for Dolby Vision and HDR?

I want an automated solution so I don't have to manually adjust settings on both devices for each content type.

Attached are screenshots of my current Hisense TV settings. Any guidance on what changes to make in the Video and Audio Format sections would be appreciated.

Can you guys help me? Thanks.

I can't help you with the Hisense settings - Go to AVS Forums (AVSForum.com)and search for your TV. Bound to have LOTS of info on settings for your specific TV.

As for the ATV, I am have my 2nd Gen 4K set up a bit differently than the consensus recommends. Most recommend having your video settings to 4K SDR with Match Frame Rate and Range enabled. On my ATV I have 4K HDR enabled with Match Frame Rate and Range turned on. Also Chroma is 4:2:0. Audio is Auto, Atmos Available. It works well for me. AVS also has an AppleTV page you can look at. https://www.avsforum.com/threads/apple-tv-owners-thread-faq-in-first-post.1278071/
