I'm an Austronaut
I have an iPad1 (jailbroken) that I wish to use exclusively for music at home using wireless connection to a home server computer. This computer doesn't have iTunes because is a PC and the iPad1 is connected to a HiFi system in a living room.

Is there a way for not using iTunes to play music on this iPad?

If you could please suggest me what to look for in case my question is misleading I'll appreciate it, thank you.

Can you turn media streaming on from your pc, then use an app (e.g. NPlayer) on your ipad which finds your pc libraries (after setting them up) as a dlna server?

If you dont know what to do, google dlna and setting your pc as a media server.
