Hi, my iphone 3G is stuck on the phone part
it works, it lets me make calls and etc...
but when i click the home button nothing happens.
and it wont even let me turn the phone off.
or restart it.
what do i do?
any help much appreciated.

well, first of all posting a thread with the title 'Help!' won't get many people to look at the thread

try plugging into itunes and pressing restore
or
press and hold home+power, then enter DFU mode and do a restore

Maybe have someone send you a text, then from the pop up select "Reply" That might be enough to kick you out of the phone.app and let you back to the springboard.

1st I would try to hold the home button for 15 seconds. It will try to quit whatever app you are in.

If that doesnt work

2nd. While holding the home button, hold the sleep button at the top. Keep holding both until it turns off.

IF this still doesn't work, try to restore on Itunes.

All else fails, go to an apple store.

If you put as much thought and effort into rebooting the phone as you have creating this thread title, it's no wonder it's stuck.

As mentioned, hold down the home button and sleep buttons, until you see an Apple logo. Usually works.

Twice I've had a phone get stuck, and resetting didn't help. But phoning the phone's phone number unstuck it. So that's something you could try.
