My iPhone 3GS is currently jailbroken (factory unlocked) with 3.1.2 firmware (7D11). Due to computer failure I did not have a chance to re-jailbreak my phone to any newer firmwares.

Now that all my computer problems have been resolved,
I would like to re-jailbreak my phone to a newer OS.
On my Cydia I have SHSHs blobs for 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0 and 4.0.1
As far as I am concerned, I can re-jailbreak my phone to 4.0.1 and use Jailbreak me to jailbreak my phone. (although i've always been using pwnage tool)

However, now that 4.0.2 is out, what should I do to make this happen?
I am no advanced user.. sorry if I just asked a lame question..
but any help would be much appreciated.
thanks :( x

You need to find an IPSW for 4.0.1 (google will help you).

Then, you need to add "74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com" to your hosts file (details), and press shift/option+restore in iTunes which will let you browse for the 4.0.1 IPSW.

thank you for the guidance.
will definitely try it tomorrow after backing up my stuff and getting my phone ready for a restore.
after that it's jailbreak me? is it the most secure and easiest way to jailbreak?
