HELP: iPhone 3GS randomly went to recovery mode (iOS 5 Beta 4)

My 3GS randomly went into recovery mode when I was playing a game.

When I try to do option restore to IOS 5 beta 4, it says the firmware is not compatible.
 
Is your copy of IOS straight from Apple or somewhere else? Many stories of people getting f'd up copies (not from Apple) that don't work like it should.

Can you get into DFU?
