Help: iPhone 4 stuck on "Connect to iTunes" screen

I was trying to restore my iPhone, but for some reason it was not showing up in iTunes. I'm currently running OS X 10.6.8 and iTunes 10.5.2.

My brother suggested trying the DFU method, which I did. I clicked restore but after several minutes I got a Restore Error Code 1611.

I then disconnected the USB cable and restarted my iPhone but it keeps taking me to the "Connect to iTunes" screen.

How do I just get my iPhone to work now?
