Trying to update my iphone 4 to iOS 5 but I keep getting an error that the iphone could not be restored. An internal error occurred.
Have tried 3 times. Gets thru the backup, but then soon after it finishes extracting the software. It then fails to the error noted.

Any tips? I have current backups I can restore to if needed.

A lot of people are getting that message. I was too. It's because a lot of people are downloading at the same time. Keep trying and it will eventually go through. And make sure you updated your Lion to the new update from today, as you will need that to complete your iOS5 install.

Ok appreciate the update. Glad to know it is just congestion on the apple side. I can deal with that and will just try again later. The internal error concerned me although it is covered for stuff like this so I was not freaking out. I just finished the Lion update so I am good there.

Apologize, I missed the iOS5 section. Please feel free to delete. Good to know I am not alone though. Will just be patient.
