HELP!! iPhone password isn't working!

I have had the same passcode on my iPhone 4S for months now and it has been fine but just today I locked it and as soon as I tried to put the passcode in it said "wrong password". I have continued to put the right password in but it is not working,

I was wondering if there was a way to bypass/reset the password without having to restore it. Can someone please help me???

I somewhat had this issue a while back, except I changed my pw and what I thought it was wasn't it and locked myself out. The only resolution I found was to restore the phone back to the time where I last backed up my phone on itunes.
