I just bought a Belkin TuneBase 2 FM Transmitter for $90 from the Apple Store. I have a Ipod Classic (15G) and the box said it was compatible. When I opened the box and didn't see a rubber backer for my exact Ipod I got a little worried.

Now the thing plugs in & plays fine (without a rubber backing), but while it's plugged in none of the functions work. Can't advance a song, can't press play - nothing. In fact it just plays what ever song is playing when I plug it in and than nothing after that.

Anybody have any experience with this?

After some investigation it looks as though my ipod is a 3G & not supported by the FM transmitter - :(
