iPod touch [HELP] iPT 2g battery drain

Hi all,

I have an 8GB 2g iPT and the battery drains over the course of a day even if I don't turn it on.

Is their a way that I can reformat it to determine if it's a software problem (something not "turning off") or if it's a legit hardware problem.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

interestingly, I just did a restore and now have a utilities "folder." i didn't have that before

maybe I didn't have the newest version of the software installed.
