Hi everyone!
Recently I've managed to get an Imac G5 17' in quite reasonable condition. 10.5 os is installed on it. It worked for quite some time, few weeks I guess.
But recently when I tried to turn it on, strange pink vertical lines appered. I can move the cursor around but nothing else. System is booting but cant see anything apart from mouse cursor and grey background. Can it be fixed somehow?
Or this machine just died and thats it?
Here is the screen of whats happening.

It's either a GPU failure, or a capacitor issue, or possibly both. You need to open it up and see if a couple capacitors are swelling near the GPU. If not, then it's a GPU issue for sure.

Capacitors can easily be replaced, but not the GPU.
