iPod HELP! iTunes 7.2 crashes when I mount my 80gb ipod video

Fairly self explanatory...

I plug in my 5th gen ipod video, and itunes 7.2 crashes. It is set to Sync checked items and podcasts, and iTunes starts when iPod is plugged in.

What can be done about this? I have reset it, restored it, and even synced it with another mac... All to no avail. Is anyone else finding this a problem, or am I the only one? Any advice/consolation would be very much appreciated, thank you very much in advance!

Open Console (/Applications/Utilities), and see if it says anything when your connect your iPod and iTunes crashes. Might have some debug info that may provide more details.

Nothing untoward coming up... Now iTunes won't download my purchased tracks AND the Quicktime update is'nt installing. WTF is going on, Steve?
