Help!!! iTunes is stuck!!!

A couple of days ago, I launched iTunes to update my podcasts. Yesterday when I relaunched the app prior to connecting my iPod I found that iTunes freezes every time that it is opened and it seems that one of the new podcasts ("Johnny Diamond" in the "Old Time Radio Detectives" podcast) may be responsible, as the app always freezes up at the point where this podcast is being "analysed". I've created another account and logged in there: iTunes works fine (though I didn't try to download the suspect podcast, I downloaded several others). Can anybody think of a way around this problem: I have had to force quit iTunes (marked in Red "Not Resonding") dozens of times, but it's not helped, nor does logging out/in, nor shutting down and restarting. I would be really appreciative of any help that can be offered - thanks

have you tried to remove the corrupted podcast manually ?
