Ever since upgrading to the latest version of iTunes, it's launching at startup. I see I have "iTunes Helper" in my login items but didn't know what this was and if it ok to remove. Any thoughts?

Don't worry about iTunes helper. It does not actually launch iTunes. Best to just leave it.

Do you have an iPod or iPhone plugged into your computer most of the time?

Thanks Cromulent for your response. I do have an iPhone but it rarely gets plugged into my laptop and for sure was not during my last few reboots.

To confirm, I just rebooted with nothing plugged in and it still launches iTunes at startup. Here is a screenshot of my login items.
