Help! iTunes video not showing full screen

So about 2 weeks ago my video playback on iTunes stopped displaying in full screen. I have the settings on actual size which is what I believe I always had. Now I get a small video picture and I updated to 9.2 and it didn't fix the problem. If I choose fit to screen I get the full screen but the quality doesn't seem great. Why is my MBP displaying small video? Was the default always fit to screen and now they changed it? Or should actual size be displaying the full screen?
