Help! Jailbreaking Iphone 4 5.1 4.12.01

Ok, so I cant seem to jailbreak and unlock my Iphone 4 5.1 4.12.01

I downloaded RedSnow and the latest version of Itunes. Restored my Iphone ect.

My first problem is that when I start RedSnow it tells me that certain operations like A5 jailbreak are disabled due to incomplete itunes library and that I couldnt load MobileDevice.dll.

Secondly when I try to put my phone in DFU mode Itunes always says Itunes has detected a phone in recovery mode ect.

This is so frustrating! Any one know what I am doing wrong?!?

I think the problem is Redsnow cant unlock A5 devices...

Which is weird because my device is a A4 but RedSnow mentions A5 to me...

WTF
 
So I got my first problem to go away.

But redsn0w says that entering DFU mode failed and no device was detected.
 
Than it's not in DFU

Hold power and home together until device turns off, keep holding both for 3 more seconds, than release power while holding home another 10 seconds.

Alternatively you can try to put it in pwnd-DFU in Extra's menu

Tried it a million times.

Every time a pop up comes up saying DFU mode failed ect.

As long as you see that and your iphone screen is blank you are in DFU.

Try this for the mobiledevice.dll error (you could have googled..)

Don't use ultrasn0w, use SAM to unlock all BB on IP4

I have heard of SAM, but it's not exactly user-friendly or widely proven yet. I've read some users it has disconnected their phone and they can't seem to reactivate it, or when they restart their phone endlessly reboots.

As with everything new, SAM is prone to messing up your phone. Personally, I would wait for the polishing and testing, but if you really need to try to unlock it then SAM beta it is.

Open redsnow, go to extras and select ipsw.
Select your stock 5.1 ipsw for your iphone 4.
BTW the 5.1 JB for the i4 is a tethered JB.

Yes I know it only jailbreaks.

I selected the stock 5.1

Every attempt ends with a "failed DFU attempt" ect.
 
Think I am just gonna bring my phone to this store that specializes in this stuff and see if they can jailbreak it for me.

This is so dang frustrating!
