Good Afternoon all,
*
My girlfriend picked up an iPod Touch last week with 3.1.2 up to date on her iPod & having trouble jailbreaking it successfully. I myself have an iPhone 3GS and have jailbroken it with no problems using blackra1n.
*
Now, this is my first time jailbreaking any iPod Touch but from my understanding..blackra1n is compatible with all iPhone & iPod Touch generations while using version 3.1.2. Anyways, to the point..I press "make it ra1n" and wait, I get as far as the George Hotz background then after it just goes to blank black screen and the apple logo doesn't show so it won't reboot. Also a pop up on itunes comes up saying it is in recovery mode.
*
I've tried jailbreak this iPod touch a few times but no success at all & unfortunately I'm stuck having to restore is over and over due to the loss of data from trying to jailbreak it.
*
If I am doing anything wrong or if there is something I need to do to complete the reboot after the George Hotz screen, please let me know.
*
PS: I'm using Snow Leopard to jailbreak it with blackra1n & also besides the recovery pop up I get in itunes, the blackra1n pop up comes up saying I successfully have a jailbroken ipod and please wait for reboot. Thank you all in advance!

Sounds like your gf's ipod touch has a tethered jailbreak. Google it and read up on it, and come back here if you have any further questions.

Can you please specify a bit more what you mean by saying, "she has a tethered jailbreak".

I'm aware of what tethering is but I got the blackra1n download off the main website and bought it straight from the retail store and only hacking I did was this blackra1n jailbreak, nothing prior to that.

A tethered jailbreak means that whenever the ipod reboots, you need to run blackrain again in order for it to boot up properly. After the jailbreak, you should be able to re-run blackrain and have your ipod touch boot correctly. After that, you can only put your ipod to sleep, if you reboot or turn off, you have to re-run blackrain. This only applies to 3rd gen touches.

Okay I think I understand fully now, so after the George Hotz background when it goes completely blank & does nothing, I just click "make it ra1n" again while still plugged in?

And it will successfully reboot jailbroken after doing so, is that correct?
