HELLO

i wanna buy LACIE D2 QUADRA 1TB....and i wish to use this only for storage . this external hdd contains 2 x 500GB hdd....and it have RAID 0 ,1 ....and i want to DONT USE the RAID...IT IS POSIBLE ?? i dont need RAID...i want only 1 TB for storage !

The RAID is an internal configuration as it contains two drives in a Raid 0 setup... if one drive fails, you lose your entire set of data. That's how they get the 1Tb and it's a function of the controller board within the casing, so the answer is no.

I've got a Lacie shell like this that I was planning to put some new drives in and there's no way around it using it like that.

You give a link to the product, it may be quicker if you click on it yourself, go to support and download the user manual and read it.

It may explain to you whether its possible not to use RAID.
