help, late 2008 unibody macbook

I have a MacBook (13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008)
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

My fan will not stop, it's on high
I have done numerous SMC & PRAM resets with no luck

also my macbook is plugged in via the power adapter
but in the menu it displays "no battery available" and "power source:battery"
