sorry for the noob question but...
there's this rectangular box that goes across the screen and i have no idea how to get rid of it? I drew something similar to what i can see on the screen, but if i were to take an actual picture of it...it won't show up. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Looks like a bad video connector to your LCD. Is this on an iMac or laptop?

Would it show up in a photograph of your display but not say a screen shot taken on the computer itself?

it's on my macbook. IF it matters, i installed Apptrap, and it popped up:confused:

yeah, say i'm using safari...the box is still going to interfere with it

It's unlikely that AppTrap was the cause of this. Have you restarted your computer? Since you're on a laptop it's possible the cable connecting your LCD to your logic board is loose or damaged somehow.

are you serious? i just got the macbook like two days ago!

...tried restarting it and still shows up. arghh

In order to rule out the software you might have to revert to a previous Time Machine state while booted off of the installer DVD or reinstall the operating system from scratch.

I'm not sure what else I can do for you. You might try an Apple Store or phone up AppleCare. Remember to always back up your data.
