Help! Lost my new files in transfer

I was trying to transfer my files from my macbook to my imac, including my itunes, and I finally did it after a couple of days. I tried the firewire thing and got nowhere, but after a couple of updates and a file sharing, everything is suddenly on my new computer. Problem is, now I have lost all the itunes purchases I had made in the last couple of days on the new computer. I can't find the other changes I had made on the new computer (created new itunes libraries, downloaded itunes backup cds, etc). What happened? What is the easiest way to fix it?

What is the easiest way to fix it?

To go back and use the Migration Assistant.
