Really need some help with this guys. I'm kinda tech savvy but not pro by any means. My 2012 Mac air has been running like a champ since I got it. Love it. But since I upgraded to El Capitan about a month ago, it has been acting really strange.

First, it will randomly start eating up storage when I know I still have at least 20 gigs left on the SSD so I will get the message that my disk is full, then not too long after I will get a message saying I have used up the ram, which I never have done before! I'm no doing anything on my Mac that I have not done in the past so idk why I am getting these messages other than El Capitan has screwed me up or a possible virus or malware???

I was thinking of just saving my important files to an external hard drive and then resetting the damn thing to factory settings but will this really help???
