Help: Mac App Store says my FCPX was not purchased there; can't update!

I tried to update Final Cut Pro 10 today but it was not available in Updates, although it did say "Install" where the buy button usually is next to the app, but when I clicked on it I got this message:

"Final Cut Pro 10.0 is already installed and was not purchased from the Mac App Store

"Do you want to buy Final Cut Pro 10.0.1?"

How the heck does one even get Final Cut Pro 10 without getting it from the Mac App Store? What set of circumstances would require that message?

Has anyone run into this, and does anyone know how I can update Final Cut Pro 10 to 10.0.1?

Answered: Trash FCP X and install from MAS Purchased tab

I found an answer: Trash FCP X and install from Mac App Store Purchased tab. Seems to be working. It's d/l now.
