HELP mac novice

I have a powerbook g4 and a mac mini(intel single core)

I recently installed Leopard and iwork 08 on the g4

the mini still has tiger on it

I use a netgear on the mini and i have an airport express on the g4 hardwired to the netgear as the netgear does not have enough signal

All was working fine until i installed leopard on the g4

I can assess my mail aand the web on the g4 but not on the mini as a test i hooked onto the airport with the mini which allowed me to send an test email which i recieved on the g4 but the mini it will not allow to send and recieve when the mail when connected to the netgear

please help in simple terms
