I just replaced my HD with a scorpio 320gb. I inserted the OS 10 Leopard disk (I lost the original install disk). it makes the normal DVD drive and a hard drive noise, but no mac start charm, and nothing on the screen, no flash, nothing. just blackness. this was an hour ago, nothing new.
please help!
I disconnected the sleep light that is mounted near the screen release button because I hate it, that cannot be the reason, can it?

I need this computer for school, asap. any info would be nice.

MacBook pro 1.83ghz 2gb ram. new 320gb scorpio HD.

Try holding down Command+Option+P+R as your computer starts up to reset the PRAM. (Worth the try).

Your computer is probably still OK -- you most likely missed a cable connection somewhere, or something isn't in snug. Unfortunately, you are going to need to take the computer apart again. You might want to reconnect the sleep light, just to be sure.

Especially check these connections:

Chris,
hey man, thank you! but I actually figured it all out, five minutes after posting that. I love Macintosh.

NEW PROBLEM: I am on my roomates computer, and all three of my roomates HATE mac, and I was boasting my MBP, now they are having a field day with this.

thanks Man, Be well.

Chris you da man!!! I was going nuts trying to figure out what was going on with my install. My screen was so dark I could barely see anything on the screen. I did ask you suggested and it worked like a charm. Thanks!
