hi
I opened my MacBook today and the screen is black with some pixels in the corner and what looks like a crack but there is no crack in the screen. My Mac sits stationary all day so not sure what happened. I can here stuff when I click buttons but screen stays black .

Looks like some sort of damage to the screen to me: may not be at the top level, but damaged it indeed looks.

Do you have any sort of external monitor you can hook up to?

Is there anyone in the house who could have damaged it? Any pets?

I myself have never heard of a screen spontaneously cracking, that doesn't mean it can't though.

What model MBP is it?

Hi
I do have 3 kids so it could of maybe got damaged from one of them . It was refurbished and always had this green spot at the bottom so wasn’t sure if that had anything to do with it. It’s a 2017 13 inch Mac book pro. I don’t have any kind of warranty so wondering worth it to repair or have to fork out money for a new one

My guess is that, if the lid were closed, then one of your little cherubs may have accidentally impacted the clamshell. If open, perhaps it was slammed shut.

A replacement screen is probably going to set you back $400 or more (USD) plus labor. If I were to hazard a really bad guess I'd double that fits parts and labor.
