Hey Everyone,

In short: Can "NuPower" MBP batteries from OWC damage/ wear-out my Logic Board?

I have had my late 2008 - 15" MBP (4,1) since it was new, and I thankfully never had a single problem with it since I bought it...until I had 2 Logic Board failures in the last 4 months.

My story:
My original Battery had been under performing for about a year, so I looked around and decided to replace it with a NuPower Battery from OWC, the first battery I bought from them died after a month, so they replaced it for free, and then I didn't have any problems with my new battery...until about 4 months ago when my Logic Board suddenly crashed while checking my email...I had it replaced by Apple, and then the replacement LB crashed last month...I got lucky, and apple agreed to replace it for free, and now my computer is running again, but I am wondering if my NuPower Battery might be the source of the LB failures...both LBs died after about 3 months of use with the new battery (the first LB died about 3 months after I installed the new battery, and the 2nd LB died about 3 months after that)

I never had any issues with my MBP, and I take good care of it...so I am trying to figure out if the NuPower Battery could be the source of my LB crashes...I have heard that using the incorrect power source/charger can destroy a LB, so I thought there might be a connection between the battery and the LB failures.

I also have upgraded my Ram and HD on my MBP with quality parts from OWC, neither have ever given me issues...

Any thoughts? and Should I just ditch the NuPower battery and get one from apple?

THANKS! And sorry if this is a re-post, I did my best to search the Forums, but I couldnt find a straight-forward answer...Any links or info would be much appreciated! :)

Best,
Don
