Hi all. just wondering what difference apart from the phone capabilities?

Is it better to get a cheap phone and Itouch or just get an I4? Is the hardware the same?

It all depends on your lifestyle! If you would only use it for games, then stick with the touch. I use my phone for banking tasks and work. I’m on call 24hrs on the weekend and need access to my email too. It’s an all in one and it suits my needs.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; de-de) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

I've never been much into the iPod Touch, basically because i want to use only one device for my everyday tasks. And if u own an iPhone, there really isnt much use for an iPod Touch anymore. I still use my iPod Classic for my musical pleasure alongside
with the phone though. Yes, the Classic is still a stellar device. :)

Can't anyone make up their OWN mind? It's basically the same device maybe with the only exception of the camera.

It all depends if you want data on the go.

as long as you can pay the monthly fees go for the iPhone, it has better specs and you will only have to carry one device.

The hardware is basically the same at this point.

If you're frequently near WiFi, and don't mind carrying a phone and a separate device with you all the time, then get an iPod touch.

Personally, I like the simplicity of having one device that does it all and not having to carry yet another thing around. So I went with the iPhone.

iPod touch also doesn't have GPS nor a Compass in addition to the cheaper camera.

It's completely depended on your situation. the iPhone is tied to a 2 year (~$70+/month) contract. If you can afford that, get the iPhone, if not, get the iPod..........

Anyways, iPhone is better: design-wise (no scratch prone back), twice more RAM, has flash camera, GPS built in)

X2. It's all a matter of affordability.

I used to have an iPod Touch 1G alongside with a phone (Nokia, HTC, etc.), and I really was annoyed to have to carry two devices with me.

For a man, I guess the unification is the best solution, get the iPhone, but if you are a woman you might be comfortable anyway carrying the iPod in your bag or purse.

Seriously. Soon we'll be paying the government to make up our minds for us...oh wait a minute, we already are!

Go for the iPhone 4: superior hardware, looks sexy, makes phone calls, you don't need to be attached to wifi.

The iPhone 4 has the antennuation issue. Buy an iPod Touch until more carriers and iPhone 5 are available in June.
