Hi all. I always start here when I'm in a decision making process. I will be replacing a 2017 NTB MacBook Pro i5, 8GB Ram, 256GB SSD due to a huge battery life degradation. I literally have to always leave it plugged in. I'd rather replace than repair at this point. I'm leaning 2020 MacBook Air i5, 16GB Ram, 256 or 512SSD. My only hesitation is the possibility that the MacBook Air would be underpowered if I decide to use it for more, albeit light, power uses like Logic Pro, Video/Photo editing.

My current uses:

Emulators (SNES, NES, N64, etc.)
Plex Server for Movie Streaming
Browsing with Multiple Tabs Open
Movies/Videos/YouTube Watching
Budgeting via Numbers
Resume Updates via Word
Music Streaming via Tidal

Possible future uses:

Logic Pro for making click Tracks (I'm a drummer)
Video Editing for YouTube Videos

Is the MacBook Air a good choice for me? If so, what config? Should I wait for the rumored 14" MacBook Pro and see what that brings? Or maybe just get a current 13" MacBook Pro?

Thanks in Advance.

If you can wait, I'd wait for the rumored 14" MBP. It sounds like your uses are a little heavier than what the Air was designed for, and I think you'd appreciate the better screen and performance of the pro line, especially with the new keyboard and 10th gen processors

Get the keyboard replaced and that will get you a new battery for free as well
Oh wow. I didn't know that. MY "I" key has been sticking but I kind of just ignored it because I was looking at replacing it. I think I'll go that route! Thanks!
