Ok, so after seeing the new MBP 16" presented, i have decided to finally upgrade my mid 2012 MBP 15" which is still fully functional but unfortunately it has too many limitations due to not enough RAM (8GB).

My primary uses are,

- photo editing (Photoshop),
- media playback including Ultra HD blu-ray playback in the highest quality
- Surf
- Daytrading using Windows OS via Parallells Desktop. The trading applications i use are not available in Mac so have to use Win and therefore, it's very important that Parallells runs as fast and smooth as possible.
- Video editing. Just getting started with this but i intend to use Final Cut Pro and do some editing ahead.

So the main question for me is, based on the areas of use mentioned above, will i benefit at all from choosing the i9 CPU instead of the base i7? What is the main difference between these two and where will i notice it the most should i go with the i9?

As for RAM, i have already decided to go with 32 but for VRAM, i will stay with the basic.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

I should also mention that i will not play any games on this Macbook.

You are probably paying more than your needs require for that machine. The i9 has more cores. Most of the uses stated here likely will not benefit noticeably from 8 cores. Unless you are editing pro films, 32 GB of RAM is certainly overkill. Unless there is some special need through the trading app, the base level MacBook Pro is probably all you need.
