I've just sold my MacBook Pro as I'm looking to invest in an iMac.
I'm stuck on what to go with though.

My options are to buy a brand new 2012 21.5" iMac directly from Apple, or, buy a 27" 2011 model second hand from eBay or somewhere like that.

I would love the bigger 27" but at the same time, I'd like the extra power from the new 2012 21.5" model, which would also be shiny and new.

Does the power of the latest model outweigh the bigger screen on the 2011 model?

I can't decide.

What would you guys do?

Any info regarding this would be great.

Thanks in advance :)

Depends on your needs. For me the screen resolution of the 21.5" iMac is almost useless (1920 x 1080). You will love the extra screen size of the 27" iMac (2560 x 1440). But if you need the latest tech, go for the newer model.

Thanks for the advice :)

Would appreciate it if a mod could move this thread to the correct location. Thanks :)

You should consider some refurb options before going to ebay or craigslist.

There are 21's and 27's always popping up on there throughout the day.

I've been keeping my eye on the Apple UK refurb store but still haven't seen any iMacs on there yet. Going to keep looking though.

that was my "1 out of 5" daily routine for a wile and same time wait for new iMac. but desided to go for a Mini i7. got one of the Dells IPS monitors and not bad. if you need to move (travel) time to time, you get rMBP or MBP 15 and always you can use external monitor. but I am struggling to be mobile with mini.

probably by May this year they should start to pop on the refurb store also the late 2012 models and considering how many people are returning theirs for "silly" reason there should be surely a market.

Question is can you wait few other months to save few queens?

Good Stuff, will you update the tracking spreadsheet for the 21,5 inches.. The more the better!!!
