I'm not sensing that 3G may be that critical for me. We have 3G coverage in most places where I will be using the phones capabilities. That said, my main requirements will be excellent phone call performance first and foremost, visual voice mail (WiFi or 3G), image downloads and transmission (WiFi or 3G), stock quotes / orders (WiFi or 3G).
What are the data security issues using a free hotspot (Starbucks ??) vs ATT 3G network?
Text messaging and data downloads away from hotspots will be limited.
I will have access to WiFi most of the time. Should I get a current generation or are there reasons to go with the 3G.
