Hi,

I currently have a 2016, 512gb SSD, 16GB, 3,1GHz macbook pro but I'm considering selling it for about 1800€ (if that's possible) and upgrading to a 2018 model, because it does feel a bit sluggish at times.
The thing is I actually dont use it HEAVILY, because I also have a mac pro and an iPad pro, but from time to time I still need it on outside jobs and sadly cant replace it fully with the iPad.

I'm leaning towards a 2,3ghz, 512gb, 16gb version.
According to geekbench the upgrade should be quite significant, or am I stupid because the lower base frequency will actually render the upgrade worthless?

Should I just stick with it and wait till a 2019 model comes out, maybe with longer battery life? (This is one major concern for me, after having owned a macbook air.)

What are your thoughts on clock speed and general usefulness of this plan?
I use Lightroom and Adobe Premiere/Photoshop primarily on this machine when on the go.

You're leaning to a great config IMO, i have the same config and it's splendid.

Base frequency is pointless, the machine runs at 3.2GHz under full-core load.
(the i7 is also pointless for that exact reason)

2018 battery seems quite decent.

I love the 2018 i5, i think it's a wonderfully rounded MacBook Pro and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone
