Hi guys,

I'm going to buy a new laptop instead of my current Macbook Air 2018, and I'm stuck between the $1,800 Macbook Pro 13" and the base 16" model.

I mostly do programming but the IDEs I use (PHPStorm and PyCharm from JetBrains, etc) are quite slow and laggy on my current (2018) Air when working on large projects.

Could you please help me decide between these 2 models based on my use case?

So I've watched a lot of comparisons, and overall:

13 inch advantages for me:
  • Much faster memory clock speed (3733MHz compared to 2666Mhz)
  • 10th-Gen CPU with 15% faster single-core performance!

16 inch advantages for me:
  • CPU has 6-cores with 30% faster multi-core performance.
  • ~600MB faster read speed on the SSD (same-size storage)

Is faster "RAM Clock Speed" and faster "Single-Core" performance better for my use case or I should go with "Faster SSD" and "Multi-Core" performance?

I want to hopefully use this for the next 4-5 years, so picking the best one has been a challenge for me.

P.S. I don't really care about "graphics" performance or speaker quality, so I didn't include them.
