My wife's MacBook 1,1 has been experiencing some issues. I want to fix them.

Here's the list:

•*Won't sleep. (Close the lid, screen doesn't dim, SD tries to eject every 15 seconds.)

•*Screen flickers at seemingly random times, though the problem disappears once the machine is in use for more than 5 minutes.

•*Ethernet port is dead.

•*Bluetooth is dead.

Is all this attributable to a single piece of hardware?

No, this isn't likely just one piece of hardware. With this many problems, I'd start with suspect someone has spilled something on the machine.

Sounds like a bad logic board... however you can try resetting smc... doubt it will work but you can try. However screen issue sounds like bad connection or logic board

Thanks for the replies.

Most of this stuff has been a problem for years. I just felt like working on it since there isn't much to lose in terms of value.

Logic board is too expensive for that kind of repair.
