Sorry for the noobish questions, I've been using a powerbook for the last 4.5 years and don't really know all the terminology for the MBP/Intel stuff.

I just got a last gen mbp "4,1" brand new in the box for a great price. I didn't want a new one personally. I got the 2.5ghz model.

I know it has the Penryn processor, but is that the SR platform or something else?

Also wondering how to tell the manufacturer of my screen and if someone can point me in the direction of that color calibration thread that was around because i can't seem to find it unless this is it.

ok i figured out that Penryn and SR are two chips, not platforms, but what is the actual platform here?
