I read a summary of a book on Amazon a few years ago and was intrigued but forgot to write down what the title was. Basically all I remember was that it was written by a guy who believed that small businesses should be structured in the same way large franchised businesses structure: all processes should be clearly written down, organized and layed out so that anyone could step in and take over. Essentially you should build a business, not a job.

Anybody know what i'm talking about?

Another good book. It was just reprinted and updated as well: The E-Myth Mastery. Same author.

I've seen Robert speak in person. Personally, I don't really like his brand (as wikipedia puts it). He seems like more of a self-help author, but that's just my odd opinion.

callmemike20: That's the one! Thank you so much.

Bradl: Thank you for the recommendation, I'll be ordering that one too.
