Help me get a G5

He's a video editor and can't afford a G5???

He should switch to post, ratecards are so outrageous that you can clear off entire accumulated student debts in 6 months, that's what I did. heheh.

Don't see the point of him blowing it up, especially as
1) I would love to have one
and
2) He could easily get a fair bit selling it.

And I'm suprised at how much he's got already.

I give him credit for his idea. I have that model of G4, like the looks of it, want to keep it as long as possible. Will get it fixed up to a certain point.

I wish him luck. Just sad about destroying a good G4.
 
might be simpler to sell a kidney. Or he could try working more! Wasn't overly impressed with the video - maybe he should practice more!!
 
This was posted about 6 months ago, and I was thinking about it a few days ago. I was wondering how he was doing, but couldn't find the thread again. He hasn't gotten that much money since the last time it was posted. As posted in the previous thread, I'm sure he's just going to get a broken G4 off of eBay, and blow that up filled with broken computer parts. That would look awesome and nobody would know the difference. Then he's going to sell his old G4 to get the RAM he's not going to get with the $5000. (I find it hard to believe that he's going to edit with 512 MB of RAM).

What is up with all these, I'll blow/break/smash something if you buy/donate money to me sites? I mean ok the first time it may be a novel idea, but now it just seems lame. I got a '92 Jeep Cherokee that I'll drive off a cliff (and video tape) if someone will buy me a Porsche 911 Turbo, anyone interested in donating?

I've got an apartment that I am willing to infest with mice and roaches if someone is willing to buy me a condo in Malibu! I'll even video tape it, and if you donate 3 million dollars I'll release the video to you especially 1 day early!

Honestly though maybe I'm just lame, and this guy will end up with a G5 and I'll end up with nada.

Anyone else agree with me though?!?

Yeah, if he were truly destructive he'd blow it up for the hell of it. I've blown lots of stuff up in my time. Namely a charcoal grill that launched 30 feet into the air, landing on some guys car. We ran. Oh did we run. But it was great seeing that thing blast off.

I've tried blowing alot of things up but with only marginal success. Lots of m-80's and m-1000's. I've tried sending things in the air with bottle rockets but they seem to only get off the ground under their own weight, if they don't make it to the air well then you've got a ground based missile, hilarious and dangerous.

I had an m-80 explode in my hand while next to my ear(trying to throw it.....quick fuse i guess) and truly thought i went deaf.
