Ok I have a huge collection of keynotes and have been trying to find every single blooper in recent Macworld history.

Some obvious ones of note:

-MWSF 2000, Quake 3 hard crashes a Mac, "It's great when it works"

-MWSF 2005, "we have a bug here" when using Spotlight, Steve has to use the backup machine

-MWNY 2001, Steve throws the camera and breaks it

Any others you can think of?

I'm not sure which keynote it was, but it was the one where Steve Jobs announced the first PowerMac G5 (WWDC 2003?). There's a sequence where he's explaining the architecture of the new PowerMac. One of the terms is very technical and, rather than explaining it, he flashes a wry smile and says something like "I don't know what it does, but it sounds... good". I guess it's not really a mistake, but I thought that it seemed to break his rhythm a little.

He turned this around and used it as a jab at Microsoft who were embarrassed by a BSOD in a keynote and didn't have a back-up machine.

Are you talking about the 1998 incident or was it something more recent like a Vista preview?

At the October Special Event(when the new iMac and iPod were introduced), there was a glitch when the iMac specs came up on the big screen. For the hard drive specs, it said 160 MB, not GB. A very very small hard drive in that iMac, that was.:D

Wow, you were REALLY paying attention!

Not sure if this fits, but do you guys remember the intro of the ROKR? He was talking about how awesome it was that the song would just keep right on going after you hung up... and then the song started all over. He just said he hit the wrong button, I thought it was funny.:)

The ROKR itself could be considered a blooper.

You're right, it's not for me, and it's not that great of a product. But I guess I look at it as more of a step in the advancement of technology. I don't care if my phone ever does more than it does right now... but some people do, and so it's probably good (for those that care that their phone one day does their laundry) that Apple went ahead and forced iTunes into a cell phone....

I still think it's hilarious when Steve f'ued up at the keynotes. Are there any others you guys can think of? The one where Quake 3 crashed was classic. "It's pretty awesome when it works" :D

Was that the thing about something like "branch prediction"? If so, I didn't think it broke the rhythm really. I don't think Steve likes to gets bogged down in techinical issues and likes to concentrate on the user experience. His, "I guess that predicts branches or something" worked for me.

It's not really a mistake, but I like the moment during the 2005 WWDC keynote when Steve was playing Adam Curry's podcast as a demo:

"With 60 million dollars worth of airplane strapped to my ass..."

Steve: <pause> "Okaayyyy. Let me give you another one.....Adam's great"

I second that. Looking forward to the clip, thanks for taking the time to make it for us :)
Can I third that? :p

I'm still kinda new to the Apple keynotes, and I haven't seen any of those bloopers, but I'm looking forward to it. :)

This is so much fun, I keep on finding them in the most random places, in the most random keynotes.
