I'm in the market for a new or refurbished MBP to replace my 2008MB, but money is tight. Can you help me pick the best value for the money?

I'm thinking getting last week's refurbished 13" or 15" + 8gb Ram + 256GB SSD, but open to other suggestions.

Can I do this for < $2K?

What is best brand and source for Ram and SSD?
