OK, so I'm looking into getting an external drive before Leopard hits. I've narrowed it down to two possibilities:

My Book Pro 500GB

or

LaCie Hard Drive, Design by F.A. Porsche 500GB

I'm leaning towards the LaCie, since I hear they tend to be more friendly towards the Mac. However, the reviews on the Apple Store lead me to believe it's reliability might be questionable.

I've heard great things about the My Book Pro series, but several of the NewEgg reviews mention problems reconnecting when resuming from sleep in 10.4.

Anyone have any practical experience with either of these drives? If not, any other external drives anyone could suggest that they've had good luck with? I'll be honest, I really would like to stick with something silver so that it matches the rest of my Mac setup. :)

Do a search on the forums, this question has been beaten to death. I am opposed to re-animating it through zombification, and won't hesitate to kill it again if necessary.
