I am new to Mac, very new, and I am having a big problem.

I downloaded some fonts because I do graphic design, and i went and deleted all of the fonts i don't use that were already on the Mac. (Big mistake i guess)

Anyways, now my whole system is going crazy. i can't open certain apps. My Dock wont show up. I can't even find the trashcan.

Can someone please tell me how to save my Mac?

Archive & Install...

why would you delete all the system fonts?

Because when i opened the program i do my graphics on I had all these fonts that i never used and it was making it hard to find ones i wanted to use, So i thought if i got rid of em, it'd be easier to navigate my fonts.

Like i said, i'm very new, and i'm just comin from a Windows computer.:(

As odinsride said, just do an archive and install. You'll have to move your files back manually, but at least they wont be lost.

Actually, i think i fixed it without doing that.:D

I went into Spotlight, typed TRASH, clicked the .Trash folder, and moved everything that was a font back into the font folder. Things seem to be running smoothly now. My apps are working again, and my desktop looks normal again.

Does that sound right?

Well if you are a real graphics designer, then you would have a font management software or be using Font Book to its full advantage.

Also, you are coming from WIndows... last I used Windows it didn't take kindly to things just being deleted, so why did you think it was a good idea here?

It was an accident, damn. Why don't you guys suggest something instead of just being ass.holes?
