I swear I started a thread about this issue ages ago, but simply can't find it it.

I've been having problems with a slightly scrambling screen, and thought it may be caused by a component that heats up and cools down in a macbook pro, and is known to flex when you pick the machines up from one side.

But I can't for the life of me remember what it was called..... has anyone got any ideas?

Apple has a warranty extension on some models of MacBook Pro for video problems, but the warrant program is running out, so you should act quickly. Check your serial number against this link:

Its not covered :(

Nvidia gpu?

Graphics card???

Its not the graphics card, otherwise I'd remember.

Its something to do with power distribution across the screen, and it heats up and cools down quite a lot.

I've noticed the flickering seems to me four mainly playing a video or in applications with progress bar, so I'm guessing it's related to refreshing quickly
