back in NYC!
I've decided to start my own little on-site computer repair/maintenance/1-on-1 training business. I'm about to start my website for said business, but I can't think of a clever name. I want to stress that they're not going to be dealing with a corporation or a large business that doesn't care, but with an individual who is qualified and who will be on call for future problems. I want to seem more approachable than a business like 1800-RENT-A-GEEK - I suppose I don't want to seem like a business at all :).

In Austin there's a Mac repairman that refers to himself as 'The Wizard of Austin'. It's a cute little gimmick that makes him more approachable and reinforces that he knows what he's doing. I'll be operating out of New York City, so I suppose I could be a 'Wizard' as well, but I don't really fancy that name for myself :).

Some things to think about (might help with thinking up names):

My name: Emerson
City I'll be operating in: New York, New York
I'll be helping with Macs and PCs
It will be on-site, so I could include that in the name, perhaps?

Thanks for the input guys and girls! :)

Thank you for all the suggestions! I like the pizza delivery one - my gimmick could be that I bring an (optional) pizza to my customers, upon request. :D

Nerd of New York is good.

New York you say, How about The Big Apple Geek? or Geek on the Go.

I like Geek on the Go, that's pretty good. I can definitely use that in ads even if I don't use it as a main name: "I'm a geek on the go, ready to come to your place to fix your computer!" - or something along those lines.

Hmmmmm.... That's not a bad idea at all. Thank you!

The Wolf.

Now that's an idea :D. "The Wolf will help you with any computer problem - because computer problems byte". Was that too bad?

That's because you're stupid!

I'm gonna look forward to see how the mods handle that personal insult! ;)

How about:

I'll think of more later (that's not one)

That's cute :).

"Nerd Systems" "The Nerd" or "Your Nerd Neighbour" like in "I'm taking the peecee to the Nerd Neighbour". Instead of Genius, you could write "Nerd" on your ID label/shirt.

I could be "Nerd Alert" :). "Do you have PC problems? Call Nerd Alert Now!" That could work.
