-Does daisy chaining via thunderbolt on two external drives increase the read and write speeds?

-If I was to daisy chain HD1(2TB) with HD2(6TB), both are set to raid 0, will I see this as one or two drives?

-I want to have WD My Book VelociRaptor Duo 2TB drive as my work drive and WD My Book Thunderbolt Duo 6TB as my backup drive. Both drives will be using thunderbolt. Will daisy chaining these two external drives be any problems?

It's shared between the drives.

The same as if they were connected to the directly to the Mac.

Works just fine.

--Depends on the drive...spinning discs rarely saturate even USB 3.0...if you RAID them in RAID 0 (striped) then you double the speed), since thunderbolt does 10Gbps in two directions you have allot of room to saturate that full 10Gbps. So daisy chaining in and of its self will not increase speed but if you RAID some drives it will. Daisy chaining just makes it so one port doesn't restrict you to one device so long as your device(s) have two thunderbolt ports. The VelociRaptor (God that has such a bad ass name I might shell out just to say I have a fricken VelociRaptor!) has two as does the the My Book Thunderbolt

--If two drives are striped then they will appear as one drive just like on any other interface...no difference.

--No problem what so ever. Thunderbolt bus can easily manage that bandwidth and again its designed for exactly what your asking.
