I've been trying to figure out how to connect my Macbook Air 2017 to the TV and to a monitor. I'm going crazy as different articles say different things. I'm including my macbook's specs here. So far I've read that I need a mini displaysport cord, a Thunder cord and a Thunderbolt 3 cord. Which one is it? Thanks!

Minidisplayport and Thunderbolt2 use the same connector shape so it can be confusing.

Since you want to drive a monitor, primarily look for minidisplayport (aka miniDP) to whatever your TV and monitor use, likely HDMI.

Whomever said Thunderbolt3 is wrong - that's a completely different connector and standard.
