I really need some help here....

I hooked up my 19" CRT to my MBP and was messing around with a dual monitor setup. I set the CRT as the main monitor, and then somehow managed to rotate the picture on the CRT 90 degrees. (I was just screwing around.... no idea how i did that. where is that setting?)

Now, whenever i have the CRT hooked up, it comes up sideways and strangely discolored discolored and as soon as i move the mouse or type on the keyboard, the CRT just loses the signal and the mbp locks up. i have to hold the power button on the MBP and unplug the CRT before i turn it back on. every time i plug in the monitor, the MBP just locks up. I really want to use the external monitor. is there any way i can remove the rotation setting without the external being hooked up?

ahhh.... so frustrating....
